A mutual friend invited Heather and Pete to the Anti Valentine’s Day Party on, of course, Valentine’s Day. Heather remembers being drawn to Pete’s great smile and his somewhat shy and quiet manner. It took him a little while to start talking to her, but once he did, she didn’t want it to end. Pete remembers thinking that Heather was beautiful and so easy to talk to. So he took a chance and asked her out.

Despite the Yankees — Red Sox rivalry between them, Heather and Pete have learned that they are very compatible and have important similarities that shape their relationship. They’ve had a lot of fun traveling and discovering new places together, eating out, or cooking at home. Just being together, and sharing in both the big and little adventures of everyday life is what it’s all about for them.

Fast forward to a lovely evening at dinner, Pete checked his pocket about ten times during the meal, and then, just before dessert, he quietly slid Heather a ring from across the table. She started giggling out of nervousness, and accepted his proposal. They held hands, smiling and laughing the rest of the night. And thus began the journey of planning a Jewish wedding.

Heather and Pete wanted to make sure everyone was up and dancing at the reception so the couple opted to go from the first dance into the Horah and directly into dance music. Speeches and food could wait! Since everyone was on their feet during the Horah, laughing and having a blast hoisting the couple in the air on their chairs, Heather wanted to keep that momentum going by requesting in advance that the DJ continue with “I’ve Got a Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas. The uplifting dance-worthy music kept everyone on the dance floor!

Mazel tov, Heather and Pete!

  • Rachel says:

    Hi–
I am using the same tailor as Heather and wanted to see if she could provide feedback on her. How do I get in touch?

  • Heather says:

    Hi Rachel –

I thought Anahit was great. She could tailor a wedding dress with her eyes closed. She knows what looks good for your body and I trusted her completely. She even told me what earrings I should wear to compliment my dress.

At one point, she pulled it so tight and I told her it felt too tight and I couldn’t breathe. She said “You don’t need to breathe”. And honestly, I’m glad I trusted her. The dress was fitted and I felt sexy in it and I was too busy having fun to think about whether it was too tight or not (and I don’t think it was, I think it fit perfectly!).

Happy wedding planning and let me know if I can answer anything else!
