What happens in Vegas… is a proposal that takes one woman by surprise! David and Katie went to Las Vegas for a weekend away that would also allow them to meet with Katie’s friend, Autumn. David had never met her before, but knew he wanted her to be in on the proposal that he had up his sleeve. With a little cell phone trickery, David got in touch with Autumn and they cooked up a plan that would lead to David popping the question. David spent countless hours on the phone with the management of the Eiffel Tower Restaurant in the Paris hotel to arrange the special night. Finally, the night arrived and Autumn “found out” at the last minute that she would not be able to join David and Katie for dinner. Aw, shucks. Diversion #1! Instead, Autumn played the role of photographer and camped out behind the scenes to capture the big proposal. Meanwhile, David and Katie ordered their appetizers and as they were waiting, David got down on one knee asked her to marry him and opened an empty box! Diversion #2! As Katie sat surprised and obviously confused (empty box? hello?), a server placed the “appetizers” on the table. Katie was in too much shock to realize that the appetizer plate had an engagement ring sitting on a bed of rose petals. Autumn then emerged from behind Katie with the camera and the rest is history.
Katie and David had many special and unique touches in their December wedding. They included family and details from Israel to keep the event personal and Jewish. Katie’s brother, Lorry, composed an original piece of music that he and her other brother played for them as they walked down the aisle. Their ketubah and kiddush cup were gifts from Israel.
