Here’s another story with a happy ending thanks to Jdate! Scott and Rachel met online and decided to give a real date a shot. Scott had a good time (probably because Rachel’s a good story teller and was actually able to keep his attention for more than 30 seconds), but Rachel thought Scott was too nice, so she decided to blow him off twice, go to Israel and Egypt for ten days, blow him off one more time, then at the advice of one of her colleagues to go out with him again… over a month later. From then on, in her mind, their fate was sealed.

Scott once told a bedtime story to Rachel: “Once upon a time there was this guy and this girl who met on Jdate. They had a fun first date, but the girl blew him off for about a month until she decided to go out with him again.” Scott continued to recap the first few months of this “fictitious” relationship.

Months later, Scott and Rachel went wine tasting and the following dialogue happened:

Scott: Remember that story I told you when you couldn’t fall asleep, about that guy and girl?

Rachel: Yep

Scott: Well, there is more. This guy dated this girl for a year and a half and he took her out to a vineyard on Long Island. They tasted some good wine and decided to take there last glass and stroll through the vineyard. The guy wanted to say to the girl. (Long pause…)

Rachel: I love you?

Scott: Yes, I love you. And “I can’t wait to continue our lives together and to spend it with you. Rachel, will you marry me?”

Rachel: Wait, is this for real!?

Scott: Um yeah (and the ring box was opened), will you marry me?

Rachel: YES!
