Loella Medina is a jewelry designer from New York City who has caught our eye with her detailed pieces that showcase quality stones and current trends. We love Loella’s pieces for their color and sparkle, which are clearly inspired by her Caribbean and Latin American culture; you can almost hear a soulful party emerging from the roots of her designs. Her jewelry has urban and exotic undertones that add pizazz to any occasion, whether festive or formal, making them good choices for any jewelry collector.
These earrings feature amazingly beautiful large eye clean Smoky Quartz faceted heart briolettes topped by a cluster of beautiful Ruby stones in pink and hot pink shades, all wrapped in 24k vermeil headpins and suspended from ornate vermeil ear posts.
Jacklyn Necklace: Beautiful Carnelian gemstones have been wire wrapped to create this dainty necklace. Small Carnelian rondelles were wire wrapped into tiny 14k gold filled chains and the closure is also a part of the pendant (or it can be used with the “eye/hook” clasp towards the back of the neck). All the metal is 14k gold filled.
These earrings feature superb quality, AAA, diamond-shaped Amethyst stones which have been delicately hand wrapped using 18k solid gold wire. The stones have been decorated with a lush cluster of rich orangey yellow colored, faceted AAA quality Madeira Citrine, Hessonite Garnet and Sapphires, each poised on handcrafted 18k solid gold headpins.
This totally awesome bracelet features high quality, eye clean and faceted Citrine briolettes wrapped to decadent lush cluster of gorgeous Tourmalines in shades of pink, yellow, orange, blue and green! There are also 'Watermelon Tourmaline' slices, beautiful stones showing off green and pink Tourmaline. Each tiny Tourmaline briolette on tiny 24k vermeil headpins is hand wrapped. This is a statement bracelet packed full of sparkle! All of the stones have beautiful faceting that makes them sparkle from all angles!

What do you get for hostesses who have everything? Obviously – something from Loella Medina! My shower (thrown by 3 women who I could refer to as my “other moms”) is rapidly approaching. These women have been in my life since I was born, though none are actually related to me. They are family friends who are amazing role models, accomplished both at work and at home.

Looks like she makes jewellery in many different colors, which is cool because you can give a slightly different piece to your shower hostesses. I have 4 so I could get them each a different kind, but they’re all still getting the same nice looking jewellery.

My mother is totally deserving of a really nice token of appreciation! First of all, thank you for featuring this fantastic designer! I love discovering new talented jewelry artists, and Loella Medina is a real find. As for who in my life deserves to receive some of this beautiful work, that would be my mom. She is an amazing woman, and we talk nearly every day, but I don’t get to see her and my dad very much, as they live over 1,000 miles away. They just celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on Friday, which is wonderful, but there’s a bit of a cloud over everything, as my dad was diagnosed with an “incurable” form of cancer last year. He’s doing great, but my mom gets really sad thinking about the future. It would be amazing to be able to send her something sparkly to brighten her day!
